What is a forklift truck?
As the name suggests, a forklift truck, also known as a counterbalance truck or lift truck, is a device with a fork-like mast. The two adjustable, hydraulically lifted steel tines can be used to pick up, transport and stack pallets and other load carriers that can be driven under. The front loaders are industrial trucks, as the steerable vehicles run on the floor thanks to a motor with wheels. In addition to the mast, the forklift trucks consist of a chassis including counterweight and a driver's cab.

Lifting height, load capacity and co - you should pay attention to this when hiring a forklift truck
What do you want to use the forklift truck for? Will the forklift truck be used in a hall or on a construction site? What load must the machine be able to lift and what working height must it reach? Various factors play a role in deciding on the right model. We will be happy to advise you over the phone or visit your site if the local conditions are complex.
Which of our rental forklift trucks is the right one for you depends on various factors:
- the required lifting height
- the required load capacity or load
- Restrictions on height or dimensions
- the size of the load or the required fork length
- the nature and load-bearing capacity of the ground
- the need for a loading ramp
Tip: You canfind all the technical details on the working area, dimensions, drive, equipment and weight in our information and hire details for the respective equipment.
Diesel, gas or electric forklift - which rental forklift is the right one?
In our fleet of rental equipment, you will find electric forklifts as well as diesel or gas-powered machines. Which forklift truck is ideal for you also depends on the location.
- Electric forklift trucks: Electric forklift trucks are ideal for indoor use as they are quiet and emission-free.
- Gas-powered forklift trucks: Gas-powered forklift trucks are characterised by very low fuel consumption and are ideal for continuous operation.
- Diesel forklift trucks: Forklift trucks equipped with a diesel engine are considered to be particularly robust and are also suitable for difficult terrain.
Who is authorised to drive and hire forklift trucks?
As the driver of a forklift truck, you need appropriate proof that you are familiar with handling industrial trucks. Even when driving in the company environment, for example on the company premises, you must have a forklift licence, officially known as a driving licence for industrial trucks. A theoretical and practical test is required to obtain this licence. If you even want to drive a forklift on the road, you also need a class L driving licence. Please note, however, that our rental forklifts are not road-legal.
Tip: Regardless of your forklift licence, you should get detailed instructions on how to handle your rental truck. Of course, our competent staff will be happy to provide you with advice and assistance and show you how to operate the respective equipment.
