Flying high with work platforms

Working at height is part of everyday working life for many companies. Whether tradesmen such as roofers, painters and electricians, building construction trades, façade cleaning service providers or gardening and landscaping companies - they all rely on the use of work platforms, forklifts or specialised equipment.

Hiring a platform saves time and money and gives you full flexibility and choice when it comes to machinery. We at Wagert are your competent partner for all aspects of height access technology. With our modern machinery and our professional work platform hire service, we support you with the right equipment for every situation - across all industries, service-orientated and nationwide.

What exactly is a work platform?

A work platform is a machine equipped with a height-adjustable work surface. The work surface, which is usually equipped with a railing, is extended either vertically upwards using a hydraulic drive or electric drive, or laterally at an angle using a swivel arm or telescope. The platform serves as a safe standing surface. Unlike car lifts, for example, work platforms are suitable for lifting people and their work materials safely upwards.

Hire work platforms - the more flexible alternative to scaffolding

Have you always hired scaffolding for your work up to now? Time to rethink! Depending on the design, our platforms allow you to work at heights of up to 70 metres - and are therefore an adequate alternative to traditional scaffolding. What's more, on many construction sites and especially in halls or for indoor use, working platforms are even the much better choice and clearly superior to rigid scaffolding.

These advantages speak in favour of using a work platform:

  • High mobility / self-propelled
  • Quick assembly and dismantling
  • Compact retractable
  • Selective use
  • Ideal for working in hard-to-reach places
  • High flexibility thanks to numerous models
  • Suitable for almost any surface
  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor use

Which work platforms are available?

Access problems can look very different: Operations at considerable working heights, over obstacles or in hard-to-reach locations. As varied as the requirements are, so too must the machines be. Because safe, efficient work is only possible with the right equipment.

Our modern machine park provides you with precisely this variety. With our hire fleet, we realise

  • maximum working heights of up to 70 metres,
  • lateral outreaches of up to 37 metres and
  • workman basket loads of up to one tonne.

Discover our full range of height access technology. In addition to work platforms such as trailer-mounted platforms, lorry-mounted platforms and scissor lifts, you can also hire laterally extendable articulated telescopes, telescopic work platforms, chain telescopes and heavy-duty chain telescopes from us. It doesn't have to be that high? Then our indoor lifts, lift rollers and passenger lifts for hire could be the perfect choice. So that you can transport not only yourself but also the work material without any problems, we have strengthened our machine park and added telescopic forklifts, forklift trucks and multi-loader chains. Stump grinders and wood chippers round off our range of hire equipment and are also available from us.

Learning from professionals: the Wagert IPAF training centre

As an employer in Germany, you are legally obliged to instruct your employees in the use of work equipment. This also applies to our work platforms. At Wagert, we take responsibility and are happy to support you as an employer in providing instruction. In our company-owned, recognised training centre, we provide you and your employees with basic training in accordance with current legislation as part of an IPAF training course. Thanks to the safety training and training courses on the operation of aerial work platforms, telescopic platforms, trailer-mounted work platforms and the like, which are tailored to our rental equipment, you and your team are optimally prepared for professional operation.

Who is authorised to operate or drive a work platform?

Many of the work platforms from our rental fleet can already be driven with a conventional driving licence category B or 3, as the rental equipment with a working height of up to 28 metres fits on a 3.5-tonne Sprinter. If you need more room to manoeuvre or lateral reach, such as with articulated telescopic platforms, we recommend the 7.5-tonne work platforms, which require a C1 driving licence. Anything over 35 metres from our rental range can only be rented with a class C driving licence or with one of our employees to operate it. Please note, however, that not only the correct driving licence is required, but also prior instruction.

Work platform hire - for companies and private use

Our customers include numerous companies from a wide range of industries. But private individuals can also hire a work platform from us if they can show us proof of IPAF operator training on handover and are familiar with all the safety requirements for handling work platforms. If this is not the case, it is possible to book a hire device including a qualified person to operate it. Please call us for a personal consultation.
