The history of Wagert Arbeitsbühnen
It all started with a 13 metre trailer-mounted work platform
1983
Rolf and Irene Wagert founded the company in Bayreuth in 1983. Both started with a 13 metre high trailer-mounted work platform. The first lorry-mounted work platform was purchased at the end of the year.
1986
Three years later, the company expanded and opened a hire station in Weiden in der Oberpfalz. This was quickly followed by the purchase of another 27 metre high lorry-mounted work platform.
1987
Due to the increased need for space, the company acquired a plot of land in the Bayreuth industrial estate. Within a short space of time, an office building with an adjoining hall was constructed and the company headquarters moved to its current location in Weiherstraße.
1988
In order to meet customer requirements even better, the vehicle fleet was expanded to include scissor lifts, articulated telescopes and a 32 metre high truck-mounted work platform. The first low-loader articulated lorry was purchased to transport the work platforms.
1990
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, two more rental stations were opened in Zwickau and Dresden.
1995
Another new hire station was opened in Obertraubling near Regensburg.
1996
Wagert was the first work platform hire company in Europe to receive ISO certification, which even then documented the highest quality and reliability. Uli Wagert, son of Rolf and Irene Wagert, joined the family business as an active member of the management team.
1998
This year, the fleet was expanded to include the first truck-mounted working platform with a working height of 60 metres. In the meantime, over 500 machines of various types have been offered to customers.
2000
A new hire station was opened in Nuremberg to increase the company's presence even further. The customer base continued to grow, which is why the company was already working on new expansion plans.
2002
Two years later, an additional station was set up in Sonneberg. The aim was to be able to optimally serve customers in Thuringia and northern Franconia.
2012
Opening of the workshop and training centre in Bindlach.
2015
Rolf Wagert dies far too early. The company is continued by his wife Irene and their son Uli Wagert.
2016
There had been a location in Bamberg since 2002, which had become too small over the years. In 2015, a plot of land was acquired in Kronacher Straße, and the newly built rental station was opened in 2016.
2018
The Nuremberg North pick-up station was opened in April 2018. The station is managed by the tried-and-tested Wagert team from Nuremberg. The company also celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2018. With long-standing employees, some of whom have been with the company for over 30 years, Wagert is positioned as a strong employer in the region.
2022
New opening of the Wagert hire centre in Rudolstadt.
2023
We celebrate 40 years of Wagert.
