Mission report: Wagert large-scale operation in Regensburg
New home for the SSV Jahn
The new building on the A3 immediately catches the eye. Since June 2015, the new Continental Stadium on the 20-hectare site in the south of the city of Regensburg has replaced the old Jahn Stadium, inaugurated in 1926, and will be the new home of SSV Jahn Regensburg.
In January 2015, the stadium construction work began and so the first fleet of Wagert equipment arrived. During the construction work, up to 40 Wagert machines were in use - from telescopic forklifts to telescopic work platforms:
- Articulated telescopes: GT 160 DAK, GT 180 DAK
- Scissor lifts: S 066-8, S 079-8 E/2, S 100-15 DAST, S 118-15 DAST, S 130-20 DAST, S 142-16 DAST, S 151-18 DAST/LP, S 173-22 DAST, S 181-18 DAST/LP, S 225-24 DAST
- Telescopic work platforms: T 160 DA-K, T 200 DA-L, T 220 DAK-L, T 280 DA-K, T 282 DAK-S (narrow version), T 430 DA-K, T 480 DA-K
- Telescopic handler: T S 40-16
- Truck mounted platform: L 700
The following construction work was carried out with the help of various Wagert working platforms:
- Assembly of the prefabricated concrete parts
- Assembly of the entire roof and façade
- Installation and fitting of the glazing
- Laying and installation of the entire lighting system and electrical engineering underneath the roof
- Assembly and alignment of the floodlighting system
- Installation of the video screens
- Installation of the advertising systems on the outer façade
- Installation of the loudspeaker system
The new construction of the sports stadium with almost 15,224 roofed spectator seats is mainly due to the good cooperation of the city of Regensburg, the trade supervisory authority and the general contractor. We would like to thank them for the trust they have placed in us and for giving us the opportunity to be involved in this major 53-million-euro project.
The crowning glory for Wagert was a special assignment with our L 700 truck-mounted access platform: the arm of the access platform was enthroned above the pitch and a camera crew filmed the official stadium opening from a height of 70 m on 18 July 2015.
And even after the roughest construction work has been completed, Wagert is once again on site: In September, four large units in special narrow design were again in use to carry out the installation of the telecommunication systems (mobile radio & WLAN).
