FAQ

Read the frequently asked questions about our trailer working platforms here.

Your question is not listed? Don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We are available for you during our business hours by telephone on 0921 789920 or by e-mail at info@wagert.de.

Do I need special training to operate scissor lifts?

You do not need any special training to operate scissor lifts, as the operator is legally responsible for the use and operation of the scissor lift. You will receive instruction in the operation of the equipment from us before commissioning or when you collect the scissor lift you have hired. However, we recommend that you attend an appropriate IPAF training course at our training centre to ensure the safe use of the scissor lift.

Can I transport loads in the workman basket of a scissor lift?

No. The workman basket of the scissor lifts is only used to lift you and your tools to a height. Smaller materials that you can easily hold in your hands, such as ceiling lights etc., can of course be taken into the workman basket. For larger loads, such as sofas, safes, etc., we recommend a telescopic forklift.

Do I have to clean the scissor lift before returning it?

Cleaning is included in the hire price for normal use of the scissor lift. You should remove coarse soiling that requires intensive cleaning, such as paint, concrete, etc., yourself before returning the scissor lift. Alternatively, the cleaning costs for stubborn dirt will be charged separately. It is best to enquire about your individual application in advance at one of our hire stations or by telephone on +49 921 789920.

Do I have to refuel/charge the scissor lift before returning it?

In principle, no. However, please note that diesel costs are not included in the hire price. You will receive a fully fuelled scissor lift from us. You are free to return it with a full tank or use our refuelling service. The costs for refuelling will be charged separately. Please note that it must always be ensured that the remaining fuel is sufficient for loading.

Do I have to collect the rented scissor lift?

No. Our scissor lifts are not road-legal, which is why they may not be moved on public roads. Our in-house fleet of low-loaders will deliver your rented scissor lift to the desired location on the desired date and pick it up again at the end of the rental period. If you have your own transport facilities, you are welcome to collect your hired scissor lift from one of our Wagert hire stations.

Is there a minimum hire period for scissor lifts?

No. You are flexible when it comes to the hire period for our scissor lifts. Whether 1 day or 1,000 days. There is only a minimum hire period for operations with additional operating personnel (if available). Please note that the applicable labour law must be observed and that operating personnel cannot be booked for every scissor lift. We will be happy to advise you by telephone on +49 921 789920.

Where can I hire Wagert scissor lifts?

Our network of hire stations stretches from the Upper Palatinate to Franconia and Thuringia all the way to Saxony. You can find all our hire stations here. Depending on the enquiry and type of job, we also hire out our work platforms, lifts, forklifts and other equipment nationwide. Please contact us for larger orders. You can reach us by telephone on +49 921 789920.

Can I book operators for the scissor lifts?

Conditionally, provided the rented scissor lift allows it. If you are unsure of how to operate the scissor lift, or if you do not have the necessary training to use it safely on your construction site, you can book expert operating personnel for individual scissor lifts. However, this service is subject to a minimum hire period. We will be happy to advise you in advance by telephone on +49 921 789920.

Are the safety belts recommended for using the scissor lift included in the hire price?

No. All our scissor lifts are delivered to you without safety harnesses. However, PPE kits (PPE = personal protective equipment) can be purchased from us. For safety and hygiene reasons, it is unfortunately not possible to hire safety equipment.

Am I allowed to drive a scissor lift on public roads?

No. Our scissor lifts are not road-legal, which is why they may not be used on public roads. We will be happy to deliver your hired scissor lift to your site.

Can I hire a scissor lift from Wagert as a private individual?

Yes, you can hire all our scissor lifts as a private individual at any time.

What is the largest scissor lift I can hire?

Our largest scissor lift, the S 225-24 DAST, reaches a working height of 23 metres.

Flying high: scissor lifts for indoor use

Do you need to carry out work on high walls, ceilings or facades? With a scissor lift, you have the right tool to support you. Just like scaffolding, the scissor lift scores with a large working platform and a load capacity of up to one tonne. In contrast to rigid scaffolding, a vertically extendable scissor lift also offers you maximum flexibility and maximum efficiency.

Thanks to their compact size and manoeuvrability, the high load capacity and the large, often extendable work surface, scissor lifts can be used in a variety of ways:

  • at heights of up to 22.5 metres
  • in confined spaces and narrow aisles where scaffolding reaches its limits
  • for dynamic work at different heights
  • when working at heights with heavy materials
  • when working with several people

What is a scissor lift?

A scissor lift is a mobile machine from the height access technology sector that can be extended vertically to transport people and materials upwards. Scissor lifts are mainly used indoors, for example for assembly and repair work in halls, for loading and unloading shelves in warehouses and for working in buildings with high walls. These work platforms owe their name to the crossed bars, which are pushed apart like scissors using hydraulics. This hydraulic scissor lift system ensures safe, level extension of the work platform to the desired height.

A significant advantage of our rental scissor lifts is the large area in the work basket, which leaves plenty of space for tools, materials and personnel. The flexibility of working with this stable device is demonstrated not only by the laterally mobile work surface, but also by the uncomplicated height adjustment. Another plus point: most of our models can still be controlled and moved when fully extended - directly from the platform.

Your benefits of using a scissor lift

  • Ideal for indoor use
  • Safe height access
  • Can be extended to a height of up to 22.5 metres, depending on the model
  • Self-propelled - with electric or diesel drive
  • Easy to operate - even from the platform
  • Size-adjustable work surface for freedom of movement
  • Load capacity of up to 1,000 kg
  • Narrow, compact design
  • Top manoeuvrability even in small spaces
  • White, floor-protecting tyres for indoor use

Electric or diesel: What different scissor lifts are available?

Whether with a low working height of 5.90 metres or a high working height of 22.50 metres, whether with a load capacity of 227 or 1,000 kilograms - you will find a large selection of different scissor lifts in our rental range. Another important selection criterion: the self-propelled drive. Some of our lifts are powered by an electric motor, others by a diesel engine.

  • Electric scissor lifts: Electric scissor lifts are specially designed for indoor use. As they are emission-free, environmentally friendly and quiet, they are ideal for use in enclosed spaces.
  • Diesel scissor lifts: These lifts, which are equipped with an internal combustion engine, are suitable for outdoor use or on well-ventilated construction sites. Here too, it is important to have a well-paved area and a level surface. Their advantage: They are more mobile and flexible as they are not dependent on a power connection to charge the battery and can therefore be used anywhere.

Choose a scissor lift from our rental programme that meets all your equipment requirements:

Which scissor lift is right for your project?

Which scissor lift is ideal for your project depends on your intended use and the location. What working height is required? How big does the platform need to be? What load capacity should the machine have? And how large can the platform be to ensure accessibility to the desired interior? Once all these questions have been answered, you will find the necessary technical data and hire details for each hire machine. We will also be happy to advise you over the phone or visit you directly on site for a personal assessment.

Not sure which scissor lift is suitable for your application and location? No problem! Simply upload a photo of your site in our photo device finder and we will find the right device for you!
